Rosa Parks is credited with starting the civil rights movement in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1955 when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus.
But few people know, nine months prior to Ms. Park’s arrest, a 15-year-old African-American girl named Claudette Colvin was also arrested after she refused to vacate her seat on a Montgomery bus.
